11/12/11 Preds v Habs, 2-0 Habs in OT

I took tonite’s write up straight from the AP because they summed it up the best, as follows.   I did get some great shots of Carrie Underwood tonite, sitting right up behind us.   She’s really a beautiful girl.   It’s great to see her always there supporting her husband, Mike Fisher.   And, she gets into the game.

Canadiens 2, Predators 1, OT

Nashville coach Barry Trotz won’t have fond memories of his 1,000th regular-season game coaching the Predators.

The Montreal Canadiens beat Nashville 2-1 when Max Pacioretty scored from the left circle 2:31 into overtime before a sellout crowd Saturday night.

Trotz, who became the fourth NHL coach to spend 1,000 games leading one franchise, thought his Predators were feeling the effects of a five-game road trip. They returned home at 6 a.m. Thursday.

David Desharnais also scored for Montreal and assisted on the game-winner.  Desharnais scored the only goal of the first period with 6:11 remaining. As Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne dove to his right side Desharnais skated into the crease and backhanded the puck into the open side of the net. Though Desharnais was credited with the backhand, Rinne said the puck went in off his skate.

Shea Weber tied the game at the 3:20 mark of the second period on a short-handed goal. He blasted a slap shot from the top edge of the right circle that went into the net, beating Montreal goaltender Peter Budaj to his right side.

Budaj made 25 saves and Rinne stopped 23 shots.

It was only the third game this season the Predators have had more shots than their opponents. They have been outshot a league-high 13 times.

Beautiful Guitar out in the arena

He was the coolest puppy dog!  He had his own mat, blanket and jersey for the game, and he never moved.

Big Night for Preds

Carey Price and his awesome lid

Not only a jersey foul but a fashion foul!   Somebody tell him, we don’t tuck jerseys in.

What’s with the tucking the jerseys in!?

Time for some PRE-DA-TORS!!!

PK Subban’s version of a dive!

Carey Price, sadly not in goal tonite but Budaj was awesome!

The elves were here tonite

Budaj shoved Mike Fisher into Tomas Plekanec and almost knocked them both down

Rinne was awesome, but tonite, it just wasn’t quite enough.

These next few are of Carrie Underwood and her emotions about the loss of the game are written all over her face.   Not much need for captions.

Beautiful ring.   Looks like her friend was experiencing the anxiety too

I swear, she looked right at us!  I could see it right thru my lens!

Game over, Habs score in OT, and she wastes no time exiting!

Time to go
